Exeter, UK three piece Fusea have dropped over the weekend a split single with New Jersey outfit Durl via the latter DIY goth label Chvrchbell Records.
“Buried” finely represents the band’s seductive reverb-soaked atmospheric take on the 80s-inflected Post-punk/Dark Wave, with Tears for Fears’ cathartic vocal hooks, replete with dreamy, all-consuming moodiness through a soul-stirring interplay between light and shadows.
A two-halves song switching from stifling, helpless distress to another’s uplifting comfort, through an achingly emotional, introspective, ethereal ambience grappling with oppressive hopelessness, built on obsessive, swaying effect-filled echoes from glistening wistful guitar melodies, and desolate spectral synth washes, churned by taut bass throbs and tight insistent drum patterns, to seamlessly fall with sad, desperate vocals through a gently radiating wave of consolation and airy vibrancy.
Keep up with Fusea:
