Track Of The Day Caput Medusae
Caput Medusae, the Germany-based duo of Tina Mar & Stefan Scott, have finally shared the first excerpt and title track, “Never Have I Ever”, from their forthcoming mini-album, scheduled for release at the end of the year, featuring 6 dance-inducing, uptempo songs that switch from pure electro Darkwave to guitar-driven Post-punk.
Lyrically, “Never Have I Ever” is about the things a person missed out on in life because of a deep scar from abuse.
A vibrant, visceral, yet haunting slice of post-punk impels dark, dancing energy fueled by a tightly bouncy, at times clattering, drum programming and sneakingly gloomy, sonorous throbbing bass lines, topped by a dramatic swirl of achingly distorted, glimmering guitar tones and insistent swelling synth flourishes with forlorn crushed motifs, around angry, aloof spoken words, diverting to layered cold, wicked numbness, stretched with emotional trauma.
Caput Medusae‘s upcoming mini-album, “Never Have I Ever”, is due out at the end of 2025 in diverse coloured Limited Vinyl 12″ & CD formats, already on pre-order via the band’s Bandcamp.
