WL//WH Premiere VEELARGO Bricolage
Glasgow-based independent label Bricolage is proud to welcome Veelargo‘s electronic maverick with the new album, “Drealusions”.
The album sets its stall out from the very beginning and sets the tone for what lies ahead. A collection of organic musical landscapes. The experimental nature of the Spanish producer, based in Krakow, Poland, is clear to hear throughout as we experience drifting panoramic ambient jostling with contorted motifs and incisive rhythms.
Opening track “Baalm” takes us on a melancholic sonic journey as it gently soars into a crescendo and back again. The pace then picks up as we traverse through realms of acid flecked electro, brisk and bustling beats, laser melodies, alien bass and futuristic sound design. The trip goes full circle, and we end on the probing and exploratory “Kalk”. A dreamscape of a track that floats along and burrows into your psyche.
Busy, playful, and thrilling Electro/IDM number, “Starcase” thrives on harsh and clattering snappy beats, interlaced with scattered assertive kicks and deep plunging low ends, layered with catchy, rousing and obsessive swirls of spiraling bleeping motifs, alternating with burnished epic poignant synth flares, to harken back to the early Warp Records’ heyday of perpetual bleepy reverberations peppered with a touch of distinctive emotional melodic flair.
