WL//WH Premiere SARNO ULTRA Bricolage
WL//WH is very pleased to premiere the jazz-tinged, glitchy, atmospheric downtempo track “UUDDLR,” taken from the forthcoming self-titled debut album by the British experimental electronic duo Sarno Ultra via Glasgow-based independent label Bricolage.
Sarno Ultra opens up a new musical chapter in the lives of Jon Worsley and Kayla Painter. Known for both their own solo material and their collaborative work in Jilk, these two underground stalwarts have come together for something entirely different on this new project.
Prepare for a sense altering trip that creates and traverses through a futuristic audio landscape and leaves no surface untouched. Fractured vocals, intricate cascading rhythms, collapsing mechanical structures, and pulsing textures carry the weight as we shift between moods and tempos with open eyes and ears.
There are blasts of high-energy percussion and glitch-laden sound design that effortlessly mesh with the more melancholic sounds and brittle bliss that partners them. It’s an album that never sits still. Even in its quieter and warmer moments, “Sarno Ultra” always keeps us guessing which exploratory path we’re headed down next.

“UUDDLR” elicits warm moody, sonorous bass pulses to sneak under an ever shifting, imaginative landscape coated in sprawling smooth, melodious synth swathes and cool, shivering glows, whilst subtly crackling rhythmic layers of shuffling snares, drilling rim rolls, light cymbal tones, and echo-y ticking hi-hats, add depth, stir and dimension to an otherwise laid-back groovy vibe.
Sarno Ultra‘s upcoming debut album is scheduled for release, in Ltd. Cassette & Digital format, on April 25, 2025, already on pre-order on the Bricolage Label Bandcamp.
