Formed in 2015, Granada, Spain-bred D.I.Y. Indie Rock band Apartamentos Acapulco, made of Angelina Herrera (voice & keyboards) and Ismael Cámara (voice, guitar & keyboards), takes a nostalgic trip down memory lane with the last and final single, “Ya No Tengo Palabras”, from the upcoming fourth studio album, “LA RECONCILIACIÓN”, due out on November 17, 2023, via Intromusic Records, accompanied by a symbolic video by Jose Lozano (Murciano Total).
“Ya No Tengo Palabras” ( I No Longer Have Words), originally written in 2017 at the time of the band’s first album, “Nuevos Testaments”, sees the involvement of former members of the group, in a heartfelt back to the music roots, characterized by a lushly textured, dreamy and immersive Shoegaze sound awash in reverb, which, even if a few days late, can not help but grab our attention.
The song wafts through bursting and emotional auras of serene soothing keyboard glows weaved with shimmering distorted guitar drifts and dazzling ringing swells, underlaid by stumbling drum beats, and low tremoring bass lines, to encapsulate sad high-angst vocals in an immersive yet expansive shapeshifting mood.
An alternate-dimensional video, directed by Jose Lozano (Murciano Total), crafts distorted and prismatic guitar silhouettes to shimmer and groove against a pitch-black backdrop, syncing seamlessly with the cathartic vibes of the soundtrack. Computer-generated, heat-seeking visions transform a gloomy performance with glorious flows and depth-defying perceptions, fusing fragments of self into a connected whole.
