WL//WH Track Of The Day: RAIN DOGS “High Speed”

Track Of The Day  RAIN DOGS

After a Far East tour in China and Japan at the start of the year, as a good omen for next July’s journey through a batch of Euro live dates, Melbourne-based three-piece “Electronic Rock’n’Roll” band, Rain Dogs drops the new single “High Speed.”

Dealing with going into the city at night and embracing evil, careless, and dangerous behaviours, at once gripping, seductive, and menacing, the cinematic and hallucinatory track stuns with a sultry, seething, Suicide-like dark pulsating energy.

“High Speed” sways on the looping cadence of hypnotic drum patterns and ominous chugging low ends of droning circularity, ceaselessly throbbing into an obsessive, bewitching spectral ride, overlaid with slow stuttering synth lines, echoing rattling stabs and heavily reverbed, foreboding atmospheric guitar twangs around magnetic sensual male vocals, subtly brooding and crooning with reckless abandon towards an inexorable abyss of unknown pleasures.
