WL//WH Premiere Dark Fidelity Hi Fi Bricolage

Started in 2018, Dark Fidelity Hi Fi (DFHF) is the music project of Manchester-based Electronic producer Rick Jones with already five studio albums under his belt and tours around the UK and Europe with notable acts such as Marconi Union and Warrington/Runcorn New Town Development Plan.

Fresh off a 2023 album on the phenomenal Waxing Crescent imprint, DFHF returns to the familiar shores of Glasgow‘s Bricolage label, since 2021’s “Migration of the Meaning”, for the release of forthcoming sixth, his 5th for the Scottish imprint, LP “Formations”, due out on June 21, 2024, from which WL//WH is pleased to premiere its sixth track, “The Sky Fell Down.”

The eclectic and creative Mancunian musician concocts vivid and emotive sensorial soundscapes layered with an abundance of striking details and multifaceted aural suggestions painstakingly assembled to seamlessly stir the imagination.

“Formations”, brings DFHF’s signature sound palettes full of luminous melodies, wide-screen soundscapes and springy rhythms. Striking the perfect balance of man and machine with intricate percussive tones that intertwine with weightless atmospherics. At times euphoric and at times downtempo but always organic and immersive.

“The Sky Fell Down” immediately immerses the listener in a sentient experience of assertive shivering glowing pads then, taut angsty brassy echoing flickers and ominously pulsing round bass tones lure you into a rolling shuffling of frenetic broken beats, interspersed with slowly expanding warm orchestral swathes and a reverberating effusive array of piercing, droning and pinpoint frequencies to clear the head of fog and clutter toward a focused mental acuity.

The 12-track album, “Formations”, is scheduled for release, in Ltd. Cassette & Digital formats, on June 21, 2024, via the Bricolage Label Bandcamp.
