  • Manila, Philippines shoegaze /jangly noise pop /indie rock duo We Are Imaginary “Stockholm” single from upcoming self-titled album [floppydisks / Eikon Records]

Drawing from ’90s US indie rock with a pinch of shoegaze, the Filipino duo are back to deliver a dizzying mix of loudness and softness, stirring introspection and bright melodicism, infused with exquisitely crafted shapeshifting acoustic-electric sparkling guitar textures, rife with infectious riffs, fuzzed-out harmonies, and catchy choruses around fearful, vulnerable vocals blissfully soaring from suffering to solace amid suffocating echoes and mocking denial, to explore the tumultuous, self-destructive emotional cycle engineered by a toxic relationship.

  • Manchester, UK lofi shoegaze /dream pop project Not For Tears “Cinnamon” single

Fourth single from the Mancunian one-man band seasoned with colourful Stone Roses and Ride flavours. Away from a sad, bitter plastic world, a vibrant, reverb-textured, undercurrent of stumbling rhythms and humming basslines stirs a bright, wistful interweaving of sharp, sparkling guitars, spiraling out into the thriving, lush bittersweet romanticism held by loving, devotional vocals, longing to share the sweetness and optimism of a loved one.

  • Guadalajara, Mexico shoegaze /dreampop band Dawn Haze “Nubes” single

Mexican dreamy shoegazers suggest a somber and highly atmospheric immersion into electroacoustic shimmering timbres and contemplative, emotionally-charged dimensions, shrouded in a mesmerizing, misty ambience. “Nubes” is driven by shuffling drum beats and moody, meandering bass pulses that stir swaying strummed riffs chiselled by rippling, echoing wistful chimes, washed over by expansive fuzzed-out sheets of reverb-soaked textures, to cradle sad, drowsy vocals in swirling effect-laden swells of achingly high-pitched nostalgia.
