A low-key release from last week worth catching up on and highlighting is the debut single from American/Irish Wave Synth-Pop duo, on which the heartfelt, raw yet ethereal emotionality of the folk singer-songwriter, Lisa Cuthbert, we already know, who conveys a haunting storytelling, reflects and blends effortlessly with the 80s-tinged evocative machine built by the France-based US electronic musician. Regretful, vibrant female vocals layered with celestial harmonies, set upon a jolting and throbbing rhythm section, alongside melancholic and glittering synth swirls, to face the end of a relationship, rather than returning “Cruelty In Kind.”

The Chilean duo delivers a straightforward, dragging, and danceable Cold Post Punk sound, creating an enveloping, tense and chilly swirling brush, bursting straight out of the gates with tight, propulsive drum programming, layered with icy spectral synth glows alongside piercing and bleeding guitar lines obsessively stabbing choppy, urgent male vocals, slowing down to deeply release pain amidst distant, jarring echoes.

Toronto Post-Goth duo returns with a haunting Post-punk affair. Hypnotic mid-tempo rhythms unfold a dark, tormented, and elegant dance embroidered with dire melancholic synth overlays, and glistening, prickly, ethereal guitar work to weave sad, brooding melodies around haunted, slightly bitter baritone spoken words and dark echoes, veering to sad emotional longing with high haloes, to explore loss through a prism of surrender, trust, silence, and faith.
