WL//WH Video Of The Day: ANTIPOLE & JA’KOB “Echoes” (feat. Pedro Code)

Video Of The Day  ANTIPOLE & JA’KOB

The soul-stirring collaboration between the Norwegian post-punk guitarist and composer Karl Morten Dahl (a.k.a. Antipole), his newcomer guitarist teen son Jakob Viberg-Dahl (artist name Ja’kob), and the Portuguese romantic dark crooner Pedro Code of IAMTHESHADOW with his heartfelt poetry, returns to WL//WH with a video edited by Karl and Anne-Christel for the new single “Echoes.”

“ECHOES” is a pulsing, up-tempo blend of post-punk edge and darkwave atmosphere. A collaboration between Antipole, Ja’kob and Pedro Code (IAMTHESHADOW), the track rides a driving bassline, shimmering guitars, and hypnotic synth textures. The song speaks to the ghosts we carry, both personal and collective, with a beat that demands movement and a mood that lingers long after the last note fades.

Lyrically, to find life, a person must tame the fear inside their head and, with the help of another, make wrongs right.

Swaying from urgent to softly bleeding, wistful, glistening guitars ripple atop a steady foundation of stacked marching beats and clunking bass throbs, while devotional baritone vocals dig deep into a well of humble reverence to release fear into a misty interlude of shifting textures where buzzing brassy blows and ceremonial fluid synth glows swell to immerse with a cathartic emotional intensity.

Filmed in Lofoten, Granåsen and Lisboa, the accompanying black and white visuals, edited by Karl and Anne-Christel, travel down a breathtaking mountain/hillside road whilst Pedro sings “Echoes” in his recording room and Jakob and Karl play guitars in symbolic tunnels. The beauty of nature under a radiating strobe light immediately evokes a spiritual sense of timeless ancestral wisdom, where lights and shadows meet to give insight.
