Age Eternal is the Hannover-based Lissa Benno‘s DIY electronic project, stripped down to the bare essence of her own voice, guitars, synths and electronic drums in order to craft a nebulous ambience of ethereal brilliance.
‘Dropout’, taken from the upcoming sophomore album “Wash Away”, is soaked in a darkly claustrophobic witchy soundscape of synth haze, which provide the ghostly atmospheric backdrop to her ethereal, at once beautiful and menacing, vocalizations. A tense and restreined atmospheres that seems to reflect, in an insane society increasingly shut down, the contrast between the need of the fullness of the change and the openness, both individual and social, and the terror and insecurity of the unknown and the different.
Lissa’s art has the rare gift and sensibility to express and feel deeply the tensions, anxieties and fears of a frightening world on the brink of collapse.
