The first time saw Miss Kittin & The Hacker gig was at the start of the 2000’s in an abandoned factory turned into a diy venue/club, I can’t remember its name, in Berlin‘s Prenzlauer Berg, that lasted no longer than a couple of years, in a continually evolving city still totally free from the infectious germs of gentryfication and marketing laws of the Merkel neo-liberal policy.

A nice but, to be honest, not unfogettable performance, if I well remember supported by an unknown, at least for me, novice female DJ called Ellen Allien, of a still too young, inexperienced and shy Miss Kittin.

Those were the exciting days of the so called ‘electroclash’ explosion grew around the visionary, stylish DIY ethos of the seminal International Deejay Gigolo Records and his legendary founder DJ Hell.

Since then, much water has passed under the bridge, and after just two albums the Grenoble‘s duo went for separate ways, continuing to build an ever growing cult status both as musicians and djs over the years.

It’a a great news to see the pair back together again for a brand new collaborative track from the upcoming The Hacker‘s new album “Le Théâtre des Opérations” out on Nov 15th on Dark Entries Records.

‘Time X’ shows their engaging unique mix of Michel Amato‘s analogue dark electro synth sequences with a slightly ebm linings and the unpassionated, but at the same time sensual, Caroline Hervé‘ vocals, a welcome return from two artists in a class of their own.
