PICKS OF THE WEEK:
- Makati, Philippines ethereal /jangle pop /shoegaze /dream pop solo project Vindeby “kisses/wishes” debut single
Whimsically floating on dreams of a euphoric road trip full of kisses and wishes, the velvety, immersive, and flowing debut from the Filipino solo project is rich in light, wistful, sparkling, and ringing guitar inlays alongside lush hopeful vocals deeply longing in anticipation, doused with vibrant introspection to warmly caress the heart.
- Münster, Germany jangly indie pop group part of The Fisherman and his Soul, His Soul – “The World Is Music” single on Bureau Platiruma!!!
“A perfect little P.O.P. ditty from jangle heaven” from the ultra-dynamic and buoyant Platiruma planet. This time the ‘Soul” sings for the ‘Fisherman’ (aka Seb Voss), through dreamily rousing vocals, merging into uplifting groovy harmonies with elated choral interplays, to deliver gratitude and joy into a surprise birthday celebration where a shimmery rainfall of jangly guitars, warm glowing keyboard motifs, and perky drum beats rise with rich and warming vibrancy, and it could not be otherwise, because our world is music.
- Montreal, Quebec Alternative Rock /Grunge /Shoegaze /Dream Pop band, BLISS “Rainbow Nights” from the demo EP “An Escape For Today”
For its most part promising demo EP by Montreal 4-piece that cruises, with freshness and a distinctive penchant for melodies, atmospheric and immersive shoegaze-laced dream pop sounds from the late ’80s and early ’90s stretched by sparse, intense surges of grungy distortion (“Swimming in the Ocean”). Dreamy and angsty vocals, at times layered with all-feminine ecstatic grace, sway arm-in-arm with the lush, sparkling arpeggiated flow of reverb-tinged emotive guitar lines, to conjure up a mixed bag of joy, melancholy, and longing.
We are proud to announce our partnership with eardrumbuzzradio and Shore Dive Records in sponsoring #gimfest2 in Boom Leeds on 7th December. Get your tickets at this link.
