PICKS OF THE WEEK:

  • Austin, TX-based experimental /ambient /shoegaze solo project of Haley Davidson, aka Dottie “I sold my soul for you” from the cassette EP “Midheaven”

Immersive, haunted and heartfelt evocation of the innermost frames of mind suspended in chilly, dreamlike, enveloping, equally disturbing, hazy amorphous dimensions, by weaving deep echoing reverberations, hissing and droning grey mists, airy vivid fluctuations, and iridescent rippling spirals, interpolated by subtly jarring frequencies, through ghostly and ethereal, sometimes doomy and chaotic, elusive breathes that meander from the depths of the soul, teetering between transcendental cathartic imaginations and painful inner reality.

  • Brighton, UK jangly noise-pop duo Dreamcoaster “Don’t Lie To Me” one-off single via their own Duck Race Recording Co. label

A quest for truth, even if it stings begets an autumnal homage to the liars in the music industry, funnels gentle and dreamy jangly noise pop soundscapes lead by syncopated drums and rounded basslines to fuel weaving sharp obsessive wistful guitar melodies and immersive droning textured outflows, wandering over dual male-female vocals of anxious and somber sentiments, repeatedly pleading “Don’t Lie To Me.

  • Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic five piece Post Punk /Shoegaze /Noise pop band formed in 2012, Vestidos “Sueños de Papel” the first single after 8 years.

Brand new single after 8 years hiatus!!! by Dominican noisy shoegazers fueled by tumultuous emotions, where hard-hitting drum-charged surges of harshly abrasive guitar distortions alternate with evocative, sparkling introspective intervals, on which float sad, dreamy female vocals, trying to be well and present amid “Suenos de Papel.”
