Weekly Shoegaze / Dreampop / Psychedelic / Indie Tips #29

PICKS OF THE WEEK:
  • Guatemala‘s post-punk/dream pop/post-rock/shoegaze 4-piece ASIMOV “Obelisco” new single

Subdued vibrating buzzing distortions fade seamlessly into gently glistening guitar melodies woven with sinuously low pulsing bassline radiation and slow dragging beats, as dreamy, sad dual male/female vocals long in a hypnotic haze of shivering glinting reverberations. Deliciously entrancing new single as usual from the Guatemalan outfit.

  • Fort Collins, Colorado dream pop/shoegaze 3-piece SLOW CAVES “Walk in the Palk” new single

Colorado trio new single is an enticing dreamy sunburnt ballad that lingers and steeps in shimmering reverb-infused guitar chords, backed by slow punchy rhythms, as hazy male vocals, scorched by fuzzy abrasive 6-string distortion, fall idly into cloudy summer skies.

  • Australia 60s garage psychedelic project The Vanilla Fuzz “Everyone Loves A Narcissist” new single

Aussie psych artisan is recently back on track with a string of new tunes, my fave one exudes ’60s-tinged ravishing psychedelic grooves that radiate from brazen sparkling guitar riffs, cuddled by sinuous deep bass palpitations over brisk drum beats, whilst high falling vocals swing elated in dizzying anxious croons.
