After having delighted indie lovers with one of the best albums of the year so far of its kind, the new single “Arsonist for Hire” seamlessly picks up where it left off, with a pristine tune of nostalgic and melancholic guitar pop, wobbling on mesmeric rippling shimmery guitar melodies with prismatic echoing strums, trimmed by sad weeping keyboard gleams, to carry downtrodden vocals through hard times.

After the sparkling jangle of the Madchesterian tribute to The Stone Roses’ drummer Reni, certainly more intimate, laidback and atmospheric is the follow-up single by the longtime staple of the Bay Area independent rock scene for almost 25 years.  “About Time”, as he let us know, is a cautionary tale about hang-ups, which unfurls on the heavenly effusion of David Roback-tinged glistening wistful guitar melodies swaying on a vibrant carpet of humming bass lines, rustling keyboards and rippling echoing shimmers, to cocoon gentle croons giving comfort to another.
