I recall the veteran  Portland‘s indie rock duo from the time of MySpace, around the beginning of the second decade of the 2000s, with an early jangly sound, increasingly more noise, back after a very long hiatus, albeit retaining their energetic and dreamy qualities, with the second single of the new year, who starts with an almost punk drive to settles on 60s tinged, wistful summery melodies. A piercing, ringing guitar lead fades into slightly abrasive fuzzy riffs, charged by steady off-tempo drum beats, and throbbing bass lines, to stir wandering manic and melancholic moods around airy, anxious female vocals rising and falling in the tumultuous chaos of modern dystopic times.
