- Leipzig, Germany shoegaze /darkwave /post-punk duo Elende Leiber “Inferno” from the CD EP “Kraftakt”
The Leipzig‘s duo sent me their new and best EP so far, ended up as usual in the spam box, a five tracker that unequivocally evokes ghosts of the past, it does so in a heartfelt and gripping way, especially in a couple of peak episodes, the opening “Inferno” and “Shadows”; driving snappy and lashing drum machines, meandering ominous basslines churning at the right point of gloom, wailing piercing shoegazing guitar slivers, keyboards that resonate epically in the ether full of poignant endless desperation, while haunted baritone broods ala Ian Curtis sway in desperate pain and isolation, to fade helplessly amid slim haloes of hope. In short, pure DIY craft for fans of decadent Mancunian Post-punk mists.

Vibrant and spooky organ-driven occultic symphonic Darkwave that rises ceremoniously with enveloping and glowing dramatic keyboard drones over a prominent hauntingly self-assured soft yet piercing vocal, observing “The Obedient Masses” as indoctrinated slaves, fooled by the system.
