• Norwegian coldwave/post-punk project from Trondheim, ANTIPOLE “Memorial Waves ft Paris Alexander, Eirene” from the new album “Radial Glare” out now via Young & Cold Records
  

Norwegian project of Karl Morten Dahl, with the usual essential and irreplaceable contribution of his ‘partners in crime‘ Paris Alexander and Irene, along the special participation of The Snake Corps‘ Marc Lewis, reaches a pervasive sense of full accomplishment with its proper new second album striking the perfect balance between songwriting maturity, instrumental elegance and mesmerizing coldwave melancholy. Possibly one of best the album of the year so far.

• Minneapolis, Minnesota post-punk foursome DELETER “Sniper” from the new EP “The Othervoid”
  

Another band that deserves more attention are longstanding Minneapolis post-punkers Deleter with their fervent, bracing and blazing burst of jittery, spiky yet restrained guitar chords and pulse-pounding rhythms to build a seething backbone as commanding fiery vocals angrily purge a tormented soul.

• Seattle Post-Punk band FINAL BODY “Lose Health” from the new debut LP “Nothyng”
  

Unfortunately slipped under my radar, the debut full-length by Detroit quartet Final Body, released at the end of August, fully deserves a proper recovery: a solid and modern take of 80s UK post-punk past in a perfectly concise and self-contained distillation of edgy emotional poignancy, gloomy introspection and sweeping dark romanticism. Compelling stuff, we’ll talk again.
