One of the most interesting up-and-coming acts from the recently effervescent modern Hungarian Dark music scene with a close look at the 80s past. As usual atmospheric, cold, yet the darkest and most poignant so far, the new Cold Contrast single, which deals with a complete physical and spiritual emptiness, compels steady mechanical beats and ominous hypnotic bass lines to bounce through a sorrowing murky shroud, swept by forlorn transformative synth drifts, and edgy icy bright buzzy stabs, around moody emotive vocals, shifting harsh devilish whispers with fragile melancholic longings, and distant distorted cries of urgent hopelessness, “no more tomorrows.”

A nice single released a couple of weeks ago, somehow we had missed, is the, I guess, debut from a Paraguayan duo with classic melancholic strains of Minimal Synth and Synth-Pop stylings. Driving drum patterns, bouncy buzzy basslines, and persistent icy tinkling arpeggios, enshrouded by soaring emotive synth swathes with ghostly agitated vocals, not its best part though, equally nostalgic, anxious, and stirring, enough to dance and trip away with.

High energy stripped down synth-driven action straight from Italy ‘by the way’ of angsty Teutonic lyrics, to provide a DAF-esque NDW vibe, corroborated with a fierce punk punch. Heavy stomping drum programming, droning rumbling bass lines, and skewed harsh swirling edgy synth strains coalesce around angsty strained vocals and ominous swirling echoes, vacillating between disruptive edgy frequencies and ache-inducing buzzing hypnosis, with stripped-down heartfelt infectious urgency as if there’s no tomorrow.
