It’s been since around 2019 that Chicago-based talented musician Ken Foss has combined elements of Dream Pop, Indie Rock, Shoegaze, New Wave and lately, Synth-Pop à la Korine, and it is precisely the use of synthesizers that has increasingly taken over, while always laced by a distinctive atmospheric and melancholic melodic sensibility. The latest single, probably one of his darkest so far, a song about feeling heartbroken and threatening to push away from a loved one forever, urgently bounces and buzzes under swirling, glaring synths, brimming with obsessive, angst-ridden intensity, while sad, bitter vocals long to be back in touch.
