The French composer and musician, after an unusual ‘pause for reflection’, seems to be back to the evocative and chilly instrumental atmospherics that marked his beginnings, around 2019-20, when he wasn’t still confident with his vocal aptitudes, but with an augmented meticulous and rich compositional prowess, acquired over the years, that, as in the previous single, borders on sublime. The new song weaves a hypnotic and haunting grey blanket of glistening spidery guitar phrases, underlined by throbbing bass lines, and skipping beats, rolling loosely through a gloomy emotional well swept by buzzing desolate synth drifts, whilst dry effect-laden aching guitar melodies pierce with obsessive careless abandon, leaving the afflicted contemplating, ‘Where Will It End?”
