WL//WH Weekly Post-Punk // Darkwave // Dark Synth Tips – MARCH 2026 – #12-26

It’s the 9th consecutive season for Mike D (longtime editor of the WL//WH team) on-air, with Wave After Wave radio program this year relocated to the internet station DarkwaveRadio.Net Every Tuesday, Live at 22.00 (EET) / 21.00 (CET)

PICKS OF THE WEEK:

  • Mexico City-bred Gothic Post Punk band led by brothers Carlos and Ernesto Carapia, Schrödinger – “Caótica Penumbra (Feat. EUROSHIMA)” single

Mexican duo team up with cult ’80s Buenos Aires, Argentina act for a haunting bilingual blend of Post-punk moodiness and Darkwave elegance, that is both pain-filled and cathartic. Anchored by lashing beats and meandering, brooding bass lines, the emotional depth of a male/female vocal interplay blurs bitter regret with melancholic pain, to resonate over a shadowy, gloomy, disorienting haze, cut through by flickering, glistening guitars and sparse chiming piano keys, to conjure up an urgent sense of loss and sadness.

  • German post-punk /electronic /darkwave duo based in Dortmund, Isocult “Plastik” single

Breakbeat propelled new single from the German Darkwave duo, their proper first new track since the end of 2024, unleashes rolling and skittering rhythms made of relentless broken beats, buzzing vibrating low ends and frenetic flickering synth loops, pierced by pricky sad guitar chords, and washes of reverb-drenched sheets that quiver with a high pitched weeping haze to disintegrate wistful, disconnected male vocals into an echoing vortex of angst and gloom.

  • SeattleWA-based Darkwave music brainchild of musician, singer and composer Tony D’Oporto (aka The Gnome), Suffering For Kisses “Complicity” new single

After a long hiatus, the electronic-laden darkwave act Suffering For Kisses returns with a new doom-laden single, “Complicity,” to brood on the apocalyptic zeitgeist of the present time, wherein having a selective moral compass due to greed causes systemic corruption and murderous competition. Steady punchy programmed beats, and wobbling bass lines carry solemn, baritone vocals through desolate buzzy synth riffs and trembling, effect-filled emotional guitar layers of sadness, shame, and fear.
