As usual, informed with thought-provoking lyrics, “Flawless” explores the negative effect of big industry on an authentic self-view, stirring a loose-limbed syncopated and pulsing rhythmic section and sharp-edged strident guitar slivers, to menacingly echo against evocative vocals of cold spoken word, caustic cries, and claustrophobic conversations with deceptive and sinister intents.

Sung in the German language, the nostalgic 80s-infused Synth-Pop number “Dreams”, related to the surreal Noah Baumbach’s film take on Don De Lillo’s “White Noise” cult novel, compels a relentless bounce of urgent drum beats and droning undulating bass loops, while swirling icy-bright synths weave neurotic flourishes and atmospheric grey misty sweeps over moody vocals, to escape, as the movie suggests, into the dance-inducing ecstasy against the ordinary hopeless gloom.
