PICKS OF THE WEEK:
- Michigan based industrial /post-punk /coldwave solo project (aka Aerma), Into Her Final Sleep “Colder” from the two-track single “How Far Down”
The enigmatic artist from Michigan, in the process of recording his debut album, still finds time to give us yet another increasingly atmospheric, darker and amazingly ‘colder’ wave allure, stirred by light crisp ceremonial percussions, droning tremors and gusts of somberly emotional airy synth swathes, adorned with effect-dusted painful guitar melodies, to disseminate lurking menace, droning poignant melancholy, and slowly swelling profound anxiety around the distant sorrows of a soft, shivering vocal tragedy, left wafting in the chilly winter wind.

Mysterious new dark, Icy and moody synth-laden act from Lithuania delivers a gripping debut EP, enough diverse and solid to result attention-grabbing from start to end, connecting ’80s inflected Minimal and Cold Wave sounds with traces of Industrial and Post-punk, driven by relentless, mechanical and hypnotic drum machine patterns, sharp as ice stabs of bright wafting synth slivers, to inject poignant layers of melancholy and drama over haunted ghost-like plaintive vocalizations, laced with existential angst and social discomfort, slicing hopeless and sorrowful cracks into a glacier of a dissipating hollow soul that collapses into a dim dead ocean of frigid cold wave trance.
