• Seattle, WA goth/new wave/darkwave/coldwave project of Tony D’Oporto, Suffering For Kisses “Maybe” from the EP “Some Hurt More Than Others”
  

Six unmistakable slices of gothic, obscure, deep darkwave permeate the new EP of the solo project of Tony D’Oporto, amongst which one of the most suggestive is “Maybe”, with its dismal penetrating guitar chords, hypnotic synth and haunting profound fatalistic croon, echoed by an ethereal female voice, injecting an irresistible, bewitching dark romantic flair.

• Dortmund, Germany goth/post-punk project DISHYMN – “Weit ist der Weg”
  

Emotional and promising debut demo/single of a brand new project from Germany, dark, evocative and decadent, with hints of classic neo-folk and Project label-like atmospheric darkwave, through funereal keyboards and desolate delicate acoustic guitar strums over despondent vocals, is perfectly in unison with the currently chilling, hazy and windy winter days, absolutely a band to follow closely.

Quintessentially New Yorker, the new P.E.‘s single lures us to a soft dance ritual, between agony and ecstasy, punctuated by minimal, terse percussive patterns, warmed by enveloping and meandering sax inlays, subdued bass pulses and sudden cuts of synths, while lusty, sassy, breathy female vocals cry and murmur teasingly over life’s painful lessons lost to heartache.
