- Universal Beats 41 – Guest Mix: THE TALL MAN “Dark Neons
Experienced Grenoble-born DJ since the early ’90s under the DJ CARPENTER38 moniker, The Tall Man, after a long hiatus, went back behind the desks in the mid-2010s at local pubs in his hometown to deliver sets focused on Synthwave and Dark Disco, and everything in-between (Spacesynth, Horrorsynth, Dark Electro, Italo-Disco, Indie Dance, Cyberpunk, Darksynth, etc…..). Here we go with a brilliant ‘bedroom’ sample of his expertise…

‘Andes step’ producer pulls a sharper, strident brutalist edge to his house electro breakbeat rhythms while keeping his distinctive groovy acid-strewn bass tones and boundless ancestral cosmic bent, sure to dispatch you headlong into the farthest heady reaches of mind-melting dance floors.

Possibly the best specimen from the hectically rhythmical Dancehall tape compilation, a sizzling and crackling dope tribal slow techno jam from the Parisian producer, to provide a seething, hypnotically seductive, groovy percussive melter.

Prague‘s experienced synth producer imagines an atmospheric and emotive retro-futuristic nod to 80s moody bygone electro-wave leanings, that rolls around the relentlessly wobbling bounces of 808’s crisp punchy snares, sinister buzzy saw wave synths and swirling angsty spindly string reverberations, to swell into a plinking and strident climax.
