PICKS OF THE WEEK:
- Tunnel w/ EKLEKT1K // Hong Kong Community Radio – 25/02/2026
Eklekt1k is a Berlin-based bass music producer, DJ and resident at both Subtle and SVARA radio in the UK. She curates a monthly residency in Funkhaus, Etikett radio, spotlighting leftfield, Bass music boundary-pushing guest artists. Drawing inspiration from sound system culture and experimental club energy, oscillate between broken rhythms, immersive mood and percussive pressure, fusing cinematic depth with raw low-end movement, as well as emotional space-out escapism and bodily dancefloor groove.
- Detroit veteran Techno /Electro experimentalist Heinrich Mueller (aka Gerald Donald of Dopplereffekt, Arpanet, Drexciya), aka Der Zyklus “Truth Matrix” EP [Clone Records]
Detroit extraordinaire chisels one of his distinctive explorations into futuristic Electro minimalism through classic tensile off-kilter melodies, crisp tinny programmed beats, squiggly bass grooves, paranoid chirping frequencies and icy liquid pads, to deploy a steady sense of getting closer to the Truth Matrix. A darker, disturbing and driving DPX remix on the flip.
- Meaux, France cinematic /field recordings /electro-organic ambient music project of Lithuania-born multi-instrumentalist Balthazar Klimt, aka Abstrakt Lake “Vann og Is (Water and Ice)” from upcoming LP “Moments // Elements” [Wormhole World]
A meditative, emotional and cinematic ambience that blends field recordings with vintage synthesizers and drum machines. “Vann og Is” lies on waves lapping against the shore before a drone radiates outward, instigating dry pitter-pattering percussions that persist alongside an airy hiss, lush glowing effusive strings, and light scratchy shuffles, bringing forth a feeling like the water is freezing, before coldness starts to set in with murky meandering melodies. At 5:20 a silent pause before a stirring transition to a magic ethereal mountain top takes hold, shining light and sparkles across the sky.
- Toulouse, France acid /drum & bass /psych /dubstep /percussive /hypnotic /deep techno producer Neural Scape – “Realms” off upcoming “Chaotic Dreams” EP [CINUS]
Immersive mind-trippin’ Techno “for late hours and locked rooms” from South of France producer, equally engaging and expansive, as it is raw and mesmeric, rippled with murky acid burbles and crisply sculpted tensile broken beat repetitions, blurring the lines between control and chaos, in a shifting slow flow from surreal primal to whimsical exotic spirals, where heady tension and confusion are stroked with curiosity of subtle details and forward momentum.
