Since 2023, London-based shoegazer Rainsong has blended the early-90s-inspired, pristine swathing opulence of heavily layered reverb and delay textures with tinkling, lilting guitar melodies to form stirring introspections.
His latest Slowdive-esque single, “Head in my hands”, about rewinding to a better day when someone special was around, fuses homespun intimacy with gorgeous, surreal washes of guitar magic.
Steady drum machine patterns punctuate an immersive swirly billow of whining and buzzing echo-drenched guitars, that swooshes, and circles around dreamy whispers, radiating frosty mists under distant layers of celestial playfulness, passion and joy.
The Official Video shows a person struggling to run through a snow-packed forest toward a bright white light. The view is blurry, but along the way, angels can be seen with hands clasped in prayer, syncing seamlessly with the uplifting soundtrack.
