Emerging from the European underground scene and rooted in DIY culture, Ozibut is an iconoclastic French artist producing unconventional and compelling electronic tracks. His decadent energy carries disillusioned poetry and dark humor. With synthetic riffs and abrasive samples, his music blends Darkdance and Synthpunk influences, all driven by catchy, danceable melodies. Between disco balls and dark glitter, Ozibut‘s live performances fully reveal his burlesque world.

With over 150 concerts in France and Belgium, from café gigs to festivals, a self-produced full-length LP in 2017 and the “Surprise Party” EP in 2023 under his belt, Ozibut connected this year with the German label Cold Transmission and is currently preparing the release of his next album, from which the new single, “Bientôt,” is the first foretaste.

“Bientôt”, French for “Soon”, “hits like the amplified ticking of a needle against the dial of an unstoppable countdown”, heralded by the gushing, hypnotic rumble of a bubbling bassline, swiftly racing forward along with clattering beats, swathed in the sweeping melancholic intensity of icy weeping shivering synths, buzzing textures and low, creeping stacked piano stabs, to urge a sense of danger and excitement from transfixing French vocals, revolving between stern observations, intimate introspections and sassy confidence, to bring forth an epic, sombrous dancing masquerade, drenched in uncertainty, anticipation, and transformation.
Deep surreal hues overlay country travel footage to create a timeless mystery, where a fluid, translucent veil casts transformative shadows and warm filtered light over the curious, expectant eye language of Ozibut‘s flawlessly made-up face. The clip also shuffles a dramatic performance and imagery of a fully covered, but for the severely kohl-rimmed eyes, person in white into the mix to sync with the death and rebirth poetry of the soundtrack.
Ozibut‘s new digital single, “Bientôt,” is out now on the major streaming platforms via Cold Transmission Music.
