WL//WH Video Premiere: Feel the caressing autumnal breeze of DOVER LIGHTS “Three Women”

Video Premiere Dover Lights

The song is a portrait of three women who had a profound influence on my life: the first from a dream, the second from my travels, and the third, my wife

WL//WH is pleased to premiere the beautifully immersive first single “Three Women” from the Ozark Mountains based duo Dover Lights, comprised of lyricist/composer, Daniel Brinker, and producer/arranger, Andy Moore, whose eclectic emotionally-charged sound takes influence from their distant mentors — notably Tears for Fears, The Jesus and Mary Chain, This Mortal Coil, Pearls Before Swine, and Nick Drake.

In “Three Women” the band ably draw from Baroque pop, Dream Pop, and Psychedelic 60s folk leanings to weave a soothing and endearing 3-minute tapestry of cascading semi-acoustic guitar melodies and soul-stirring lyrics.

Organic, swaying moods descend onto the undulating resonance of brittle, lilting guitar strums, underlined by palpitating basslines, stirring the haunted atmospheric male vocals shrouded in ghostly distortions of the past, to fall feather-like through the winding 12-string chords that prickle and chime eerily amid deep echoes of decaying change.

Poetic lyrics reflect a surreal stream of consciousness fusing past, present, and future seasons into a blueprint of lost identities found “weighted in history” of foreign lands.

The black and white video, made up of DIY footage from a trip of a few years ago, captures the secret majestic auras of the West Ireland coast with cold, grey, and dismal panoramic views. Scenes zoom in and out of focus against the omnipotent fluid motion, where the air and sea collide into windblown moods around hidden, foggy mountaintops tinged in delicate drops of drizzle.  Dimensions merge between the endless white-capped ocean and the eternal grey skies, interspersed by jagged, asymmetrical cliffs, descending into ghostly stone pathways leading outward into a blurry mirage of vast possibilities.

Dover Lightsdebut single “Three Women” is taken from the band’s forthcoming self-titled debut album, “Dover Lights”, slated for release on January 15th, 2021.

Pre-order the album on vinyl/CD and Digital from Oct. 29th on Dover Lights’ WebSite & Bandcamp.
