Formed in Dijon in July 2017, after two solid EPs and a change of line-up, French 3-piece dirishu6 , comprised of Thai-Binh Phan-Van (Bass), Quentin Masanet (Drums) and Olivier Dumont (Guitar/Vocals), perfect their heady brew of shoegaze and noise pop in their upcoming third eponymous 6-track EP to be released on May 7, 2021, on cassette edition via Hidden Bay Records and CD version directly from the band’s Bandcamp.
WL//WH is pleased to premiere the stunning video, created by the bassist Thai-Binh Phan-Van himself, for the soothing and thoughtful second single “Pétale”, that deftly reflects the distinctive duality between hazily twinkling, tuneful ethereality, and resonant layered bursts of noise.
Dreamy, sensual male vocals caress wishful, romantic memories through a sentient stream of consciousness embraced by sparkling reverb infused bittersweet guitar melodies, punctuated by steady, off-tempo drum beats along with sinuously pulsing silky bassline, finally swept by dazzling soaring distortion into an intimate escape towards a vibrant blissful horizon.
Cinematic auras follow a beautiful woman through an enchanted forest to pick a bouquet of wildflowers. Wind-blown fern leaves rustle hypnotically along stunning panoramic views of Mother Nature’s springtime bounty, while sweeping zoom lens photography captures the intimate, introspective facial expressions of a rare moment of enchantment, lit by dancing dandelion puffs and nostalgic pink and yellow petals, left floating hopelessly on the lakeshore.
dirishu6‘s 6-track S/T EP is due to be released on May 7, 2021, on cassette edition via Hidden Bay Records and CD version directly from the band’s Bandcamp.
