Established in 1988, Münster, Germany’s veteran Electro Pop act X Marks The Pedwalk, has developed in more than thirty years a unique, elegant and intricate dark electronic sound, encompassing elements of EBM, Industrial, Electro, Synth-pop and what will be called Future-Pop.
The duo comprises mastermind musician and co-founder Sevren Ni-Arb along with vocal artist Estefanía, are ready to take us on an emotional musical journey through their forthcoming 11th full-length excursion, “NEW/END”, scheduled to be released on April 29th, 2022, via their own Meshwork Music, with nine songs ‘about determination and strength as well as moments of pain and loss.’
An electrifying music video, created by Sevren Ni-Arb himself, for the immersive electro-pop track, “Sailors at Dawn”, drives slivers of hope and elucidation through an ominous backdrop of black shifting skies.
Ecstatic, dubious electronic textures weave the agony and ecstasy of difficult passages through skipping and dancing beats, dramatic synth stabs, thick flickering bass tones, hollow ticking orbs, and sparkling, springy swirls to open darkened doorways of intuition around the breathless beauty of female vocals journeying from darkness into light, using nature-inspired motifs to evoke feelings of struggle, optimism, and triumph.
Doomy electric blue dimensions, directed by Sevren Ni-Arb, draw feelings of fear, danger, and turbulence from stormy horizons whilst temptations of a bright future loom wearily behind. Violent bolts slash sinister intentions over murky seas to charge an emotional performance with dread and gloom as a distant lighthouse sends beacons of hope from ancient wisdom to guide lost souls through the obscure deceptions. Hypnotic, bewitching energies shift and bloom into magnificent strength by aligning nature’s forces of illumination with etched symbols of inherited insight to cast away shadows and doubt with blinding rays of truth.
