WL//WH Video Of The Day: WILDIVE “Teenage Fall”

Video Of The Day  WILDIVE

German Dream Pop/ Indie Rock DIY 3-piece from Cologne, WILDIVE, combine a hypnotic entanglement of ethereal crystalline guitar shimmers with deep, winding bass vibrations on the husky emotional ageless 4th single “Teenage Fall”, accompanied by a self-released ‘slice of life’ music video.

Nostalgic, twinkling guitar strings glisten over a rubbery pulsating bassline and steady punchy drum beats, as airy, high male vocals anxiously resist the shifting tempo and tone intensity of the time-travelling lyrics to form a deceptively breezy introspection of melancholic bliss.

Teenage Fall” is about being desperately in love, getting hurt by naiveté, and the acceptance of flawed beauty. A stream of consciousness moves backwards through nostalgic memories drenched in darkness and despair, then returns with a lighter, brighter understanding of reality and falls hopelessly in love.

Urban atmospheres set a cool and edgy backdrop for contemplating life with friends. Outward looking horizons scour the cityscape where graffiti drew architecture bleeds into a reflective blue sky, blurring transition overlays into a cavernous subway system. Angular group shots spin into isolating fragments of picture in picture, casting blue light shadows of an impromptu performance, through parallel planes of angsty existence.
