Video Of The Day Wild Roses Of Winter
Helsinki-based Dark Wave duo, Wild Roses Of Winter, comprised of Virgin in Veil and Masquerade members Suzi Sabotage (vocals, hand drum, programming), and Jacques Saph (synth, bass, programming), have just dropped the official music video for the neoclassical, ethereal wave song “Incineration”, we featured at the end of January, taken from the band 3-track debut Self/Titled EP.
Citing from the previous post: “Incineration” is a solemn, forlorn, atmospheric dirge, encompassed by the tragic and deep unveiling of poisonous emotions, bearing the burden of obscure woe and sorrow, where relentlessly intense melancholic and dramatic synth string loops, fueled by hypnotic, insistent and martial percussive rhythms, delve into the voids of the soul, replete with oppressive desolation and unyielding disbelief, as cold, stoic primal female howls layered with urgent chanting cries, desperately foretell fallen foolish tragedy.
The hypnotic video captures the beauty of winter with grey skies cast over historical monuments glazed in ice and white roses setting a somber tone, as an iron faced cherub stares innocently through the monochromatic horizon.
The clashing duality of colour, emotions, and lore supernaturally shift between dimensions into a hazy matte chrome backdrop, flowing behind the darkwave duo, as time lapsed hands dance in bewitching allure. Asymmetrical platinum frames Cleopatra’s fierce warrior glare, while split-screen photography reflects macabre funeral forms caressed lovingly with fingers painted in black.
