Velvet Mist emerged in late 2020 from a collective quest by Belgian musicians Jonathan Verstrepen and Anton Mergaerts with an intoxicating Electronic-charged fusion of New Wave and Gothic Rock, made for striking at the heart of all those who cherish the most gloomy and melancholic 80s-inspired classic dark sounds.
The band have dropped an Official Video by Y Productions for the electrifying second single, “Midnight Fire”, taken from the forthcoming highly anticipated debut full-length album, after the acclaimed 2022 debut EP “Visitation”.
A cathartic blazing passion, “Midnight Fire” ignites beautifully emotive and vibrant sparkling guitar melodies through throbbing bass lines, steady thumping beats, and atmospheric synth swathes, to vibrate and sizzle around deeply felt baritone vocals, crooning ‘turns my black heart pale’ in lush emotional strains.
A dark smoky strobing fantasy by Y Productions blends an intoxicating dance by Lady Vengeance with an evocative performance by Velvet Mist to sync with the sensuality of the soundtrack. Spinning disco ball reflections shine prismatic fascinations through a hazy head fog of shapeshifting shadows, to illuminate impassioned red accents that bring a vibrant life focus to an otherwise grey-tinged realm.
