WL//WH Video Of The Day THE SICK MAN OF EUROPE
The Sick Man of Europe, the London, UK-based Kraut-fueled Post-punk one-man band, returns to WL//WH with an Official Video by The Sick Man Of Europe himself, Jamie Reeves and Bella Keery, for “Obsolete”, the first excerpt from the forthcoming self-titled (TSMOE) debut album, scheduled for release on June 20, 2025, via The Leaf Label, a follow-up to last February’s limited cassette EP, “Moderate Air Quality.”
“Obsolete” is the first track produced under the self-imposed restriction of focused songwriting rather than attempting to follow current production trends.

Seamlessly fusing rhythm and melody in a hectic and hypnotic rush, “Obsolete” cranks up a restless propulsive drive of lashing, clap-fueled, repetitive drum patterns with heart-racing, strobing bass lines, layered with intermissions of obsessive guitar slivers, and slow shivering keyboard outflows, to saturate and shift urgent cold robotic vocals, into sadder, softer, more introspective spoken words, with warm emotional embraces.
In the visuals created by The Sick Man of Europe, Jamie Reeves and Bella Keery, you will see the British artist himself perform “Obsolete” under transformative editing techniques to evoke the feelings of not being able to keep up with the ever-changing, rapid flow of modern technology. High saturation combines with blurry trace overlays and a symbolic Rorschach-type wall of morphing lights and shadows, while the empty space around objects looks ghostly and etheric.
The Sick Man of Europe‘s eponymous debut full-length album will be dropped on Limited Edition ‘Sanguine Red’ LP (400 Copies), black vinyl, CD + Bandcamp T-shirt bundle, on June 20th via The Leaf Label.
Keep up with The Sick Man of Europe:
