Video Of The Day THE MYSTIC UNDERGROUND

Elegant purveyors of atmospheric and danceable dark electronic pop songs ‘for the disenchanted, disillusioned and disenfranchised’, Brooklyn, New York based duo Vladimir Valette and Benedetto Socci AKA The Mystic Underground thoughtfully compose a collision of whimsical and evocative synth-laden sounds for their latest single, “Peter”, paired with a dramatic visual dystopia directed by William Murray.

Retro 80s vibes evoke hopeless melancholy and obsession through bouncy acid-flecked bass lines, stumbling beats, and bright, flourishing synthetic swirls, to form hypnotic bipolar moods around angsty, breathless heartfelt croons hanging in a discomforting imbalance betwixt shame, loneliness, and indecision, whilst groovy energetic rhythms and taunting electronic strains move forward into intoxicating expansions of endless dreams.

Blurry visions, captured by William Murray, surround a troubled citizen whose constant heady anxiety leads to stagnation and fear. Lonely apartment dwellings intersect with a hazy music rehearsal and brief outdoor wanderings to form an edgy modern depiction of a lost soul just trying to survive amid an isolated urban existence of self-induced helpless dread.

The Mystic Underground‘s self-produced new single, “Peter”, with a The Kolour Kult Remix on the flip, is out now on the main sharing platforms via Stereosonic Recordings.
