WL//WH Video Of The Day: THE CEMETARY GIRLZ “Eternal Night”

Video Of The Day  The Cemetary Girlz

Paris, France based Gothic Rockers Cemetary Girlz, comprised of AlienSPagan (Vocals, Guitars), Diva+re (Drums, Prog), and SiouxSide (Bass) drop a symbolic video by Mathieu Voisin, to visualise the first teaser, “Eternal Night”, taken from the band’s forthcoming album “L’envol du Corbeau | Flight of the Raven.”

Conjuring lush and doomy Gothic moods inspired by the DeathRock, Batcave and Dark Post-Punk from the 80s, “Eternal Night” imbues heavy, droning, distorted apocalyptic auras roused by haunted declaiming vocals laced with anxious dread, whilst a dramatic faltering spiral of thundering bass lines, crawling, leaden drum beats, spectral icy bright organ keyboard stabs and searing doomsday guitar riffs, churn turbulent waters around a poetic, lyrical interpretation where a ritual encounter with a seductress in the woods leads to an injection of death by hypnotic, helpless desire.

A quote from Charles Baudelaire’s 1857Le Vampire” introduces the accompanying video by Mathieu Voisin with chilling visions to set the stage for a sinister gothic romance, cloaked in universal visuals of fear and tragedy. The narrative comes to life with dramatic acting, evocative medieval style, and a timeless backdrop of a misty enchanted forest to enshrine a fateful meeting in liturgical fantasy and witchy lore. Eerie masked performance scenes lure the mind’s eye into an ancient timeline powered by the deception, seduction, and black magic of vampires to capture a modern theme of being led astray by a lust for power and domination at the hands of a demonically possessed blood sacrifice.
