Video Of The Day SYNTHETIC DESTINY

Newcomer intriguing specimen of the Hungarian Gothic underground music scene, the Budapest-based Dark Electronic trio Synthetic Destiny, comprised of longtime Cold Contrast members Marcell Nemesházy (Synths & production) and Márk Baranyai (bass) together with the talented young singer Júlia “Sky” Eperjesi, combine Body Music/Industrial-laced, Club-ready driving rhythms with haunting Darkwave spells in the band’s debut single “40 Days” via SenkWaves, paired with the Official Video by Peter Dajka.

“40 Days depicts the negative aspects of long-distance relationships, as well as the painful but inevitable path needed for its development”

Driiping with themes of romance and sorrow, “40 Days” ignites the rumbling, propulsive energy of turbulent bass line menace, alongside relentless crisp pounding beats, warm weeping swathes, subtle keys, and anxious synth melodies to rise and fall in hypnotic frequencies around emotional female vocals, layering sultry longing, with agonized cries, and secret whispers, to reveal intimate and sensitive thoughts about the dark side of relationships.

The Official Video, directed by Petar Dajak, stars Júlia “Sky” Eperjesi as a Gothic bride who transforms herself from a tear stained tragedy into a stunning fresh-faced beauty. The use of symbolic imagery, such as blood on a white rose, candles, chains, and an elegant chalice, expresses the lyrical suffering, yearning, and frustration, . We know from the lyrics that reconciliation is at hand, but it will be a rollercoaster ride of emotions as she has to wait “40 Days” to see her lover again, and the pain is unbearable.

The band will soon support Oliver Decrow. More info at this link.
