WL//WH Video Of The Day SUGAR FOR THE PILL
The Athens, Greece-based five piece Shoegaze/Dream Pop band, Sugar For the Pill returns to WL//WH with an Official Video, directed by Georg Psarras and Vana Rose, starring Virginia (Jenny) Manousi, for “LUV”, the third single and title track from the forthcoming sophomore album, scheduled for release May 23, 2025, via Shelflife Records (US) and Make Me Happy Records (EU).
A song about feeling empty, from sharing so much love, races its way through a mesmerising and invigorating mix of atmospheric, soulful melodies, sinuously warm bass pulses and driving, skittering rhythms, to underline a boundless soar of shivering, dazzling guitar lines alongside ethereal keyboards, layered with an heady dreamy afloat of longing female vocals, to burst into misty, ecstatic cascades of uplifting “Luv”.
The Official Video by Georg Psarras and Vana Rose travels from the seashore, to rocky cliffs, and then to dainty flower-laden fields to set a vibrant, whimsical backdrop for Virginia (Jenny) Manousi, who holds poster boards with the handwritten lyrics for LUV on them. At the end of the clip, after the quote “LUV is meant to be shared”, people at different locations hold LUV cards, syncing seamlessly with the sentiments of the soundtrack.
