Video Of The Day SOMETHING OBSCURA
Something Obscura, the Lima, Peru-based Dark-Gaze project of musician and composer Nonn Loop, unveils the symbolic DIY Official Music Video for “Delirio”, a moonlit song from last February’s twelve-track album “Way to Fall,” which explores the loneliness that occurs in the middle of the night through a lens of fear and uncertainty.
In “Delirio”, Something Obscura builds a dark, glowing introspection replete with thought-provoking sensibility, elicited by reverberating doom-laden bass throbs, stirred by rattling, hollow-knocking, steady drum patterns, to steadfastly churn beneath passionate, shimmering guitar lines, eerily resonating atop soft, downcast male vocals that sing of life’s cyclical nature through darkness, punishment, and the vanishing of dread.
In the Official Music Video, directed by Nonn Loop himself, a pretty Gothic woman dances with a mysterious man who is covered from head to toe in black clothing. Then, after some stirring, contemplative and devotional moments, under a lunar radiance, she becomes frozen in a purple aura, syncing seamlessly with the thoughts expressed by the soundtrack.
Something Obscura will support Barcelona‘s darkwavers Darkways on the Lima date of the Spanish band’s Latin American Tour, which will take place on July 24th. Tickets and info available here.
