WL//WH Video Of The Day: SOFT SET “Gone” (Official Video)

Video Of The Day  Soft Set

Soft Set, the Toronto-based entrancing Shoegaze-tinged, Dream Pop songwriting and music project by James Gray and Nathan Athay, unveil the first single and title track, “Gone”, of the duo’s forthcoming 5-track EP due out on November 15, accompanied by the official visuals produced and edited by Merging Forest Films.

“Gone” is a mesmerizing journey through the complex emotions of loss and renewal. With its signature ethereal soundscapes, reverb-drenched guitars, and delicate vocals, the track carries a haunting sense of longing but also glimmers with an underlying hope for the future.

Nostalgic and emotional, “Gone”  elicits flowing breezes of pulsing bass lines and vibrant drum beats chugging beneath crystalline ornaments of piercing pain-fueled guitar obsessions, while lush restless harmonised dual vocals heartfeltly long over sad meandering melodies into a tinkling and glowing emergence of chiming hope.

The Official Video by Merging Forest Films stars Alandra McKirdy as a starry-eyed city explorer at night to sync with the personal journey aspect of the soundtrack. To enhance the nocturnal magic of Toronto’s Roncesvalles Avenue, time-lapse photography blends parallel timelines into a colourful interconnectivity of lights.

Keep up with Soft Set:
