WL//WH Video Of The Day: SLEEP OVERLOAD “Horror Film”

Video Of The Day SLEEP OVERLOAD

Sakhalin Oblast-based, Russian Horrogaze band, Sleep Overload, lead by multi-instrumentalist and composer Eugene Zhuk along with Kristina Simonova on vocals, and the new entry George Fugenfirov on bass, have dropped a macabre Halloween video for the fantastical “Horror Film” taken from the new 3-track of the same name.

Whilst lyric-wise explores the spooky psychological reactions elicited during an eerie night of watching a “Horror Film”, the tune unfurls immersive scintillating swirls of reverb dusted winds to enshroud low thundering drum beats, ecstatic glistening guitar strings, harsh, searing swooshing distortions, and menacing bassline throbs, creating haunting and dreamlike hazy atmospherics around the distant floating darkly ethereal female vocals expanding eerily into other-worldly frequencies, amid the slow, grungy and swaying surges of horror driven hypnotic fear.

The chilling DIY video invokes translucent inter-dimensional entities using a dark ritual séance to subdue a surreal backward flow of vaporous motion with resonant subconscious imagery. Witchy wardrobe, misty auras, and disenchanted woods set the stage for a black magic conjuring lit in strobing lights, ultraviolet rays, and supernatural shadows to summon dangerous ancient wisdom from a necromancer’s Ouija board.
