WL//WH Video Of The Day: SHAMPOO TEARS “Tidal Wave”

WL//WH Video Of The Day  SHAMPOO TEARS

After being a well-known multifaceted passionate music stalwart of the ’90s Orlando scene, in the guise of a drum-and-bass selector as DJ Jeffee, vintage country Americana radio broadcaster, DJ White Lightning, as well as part of the classic country band Giddy Up Go, the multi-instrumentalist-Jeff-Hindman makes a surprise comeback paired with lead guitarist Hope Russo in the form of the Dream Pop band Shampoo Tears.

The Florida duo deftly blends the sunshiney and bittersweet jangly melodies and hazy melancholic atmospheres from pioneer indie labels such as Sarah, Creation, Postcards and the more recent Labrador with breezy streaks of intoxicating ’60s spices, Paisley Underground mesmerism and a splash of enveloping electronica.

Check out the DIY visuals for the captivating lead single and title track in anticipation of the incoming Shampoo Tears’ sophomore 6-track EPTidal Wave”, to be released tomorrow via Brighton, UK independent label Shore Dive Records.

Memories of a lost love that can never be found weave poignant layers of gently strummed acoustic guitar, swaying along with the rippling sparkling strings of melancholic arpeggios, underlined by steady drum beats, and throbbing bass lines, wistfully winding around rich emotional atmospheres of airy vocal longing, encircled by ambient beach waves, directing the listener to “see beyond the tidal wave.”

As if underwater, Shampoo Tears perform “Tidal Wave” under transformative overlays to sync with the comforting influence of the soundtrack. The vision uses lights and shadows to take the viewer into an alternate realm of reflections, where symbolic imagery lends insight and shifts perception.

Shampoo Tears’ sophomore EP “Tidal Wave” is due out tomorrow, September 13th, in CD & Digital formats, via Brighton, UK independent label Shore Dive Records.
