WL//WH Video Of The Day SHAMPOO TEARS
Shampoo Tears, the Dream Pop duo of Jeff and Hope based in Pittsburgh, PA, herald their new 6-track EP, “Lonely World”, released today via Shore Dive Records, with a DIY video for “It Ended Up This Way”.
Equally sunshiny and melancholic, as it is light-hearted and nostalgic in the best British/Swedish indie pop fashion, “It Ended Up This Way” wraps the heartache from a holiday, around crisp hypnotic beats, and sinuous bass pulses, bouncing along with urgent, zipping synth chords, twinkling swirls, layered with shimmering strums, and stirring glistening guitar meanderings to bring forth bittersweet feelings of hope and gloom. Slightly anxious, heartfelt male vocals soar and plead, “Please don’t leave me behind,” whilst being carried away on the warm sway of sparkling melodies.
The frequencies are rising when Shampoo Tears performs “It Ended Up This Way” under an array of symbolic filters. The scenes shift between a spray-painted skull backdrop and a beautiful foliage-strewn forest where lights sparkle to lift the spirit through a tall canopy of trees into the sky.
Shampoo Tears‘ new EP “Lonely World” is out today, November 28th, in CD, Vinyl 12″ & Digital formats, via Brighton, UK-based independent label Shore Dive Records.
