WL//WH Video Of The Day Schrödinger
Schrödinger is a Mexican Post Punk / Gothic band led by brothers Ernesto Carapia (Vocals, Bass, Electronics and Synthesizers) and Carlos Carapia (Guitars, Programming and Synthesizer) originally hailing from Mexico City.
After a mesmerizing riff-charged reinterpretation of the Bauhaus cult classic “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” in 2023, and a couple of singles in the current year, the duo return with a music video for their latest release “Heavenless,” via Swiss Dark Nights.
Coated with the band’s distinctive effect-filled guitar-laden arpeggios, “Heavenless” is an emotional flowing gothic song woven with the passion and pain of sharp sparkling guitar glistens, sharing space with restrained murky riffs and intervals of haunting chimed melodies that radiate and hover over a solid foundation of humming flickering bass lines and steady punchy drum beats, enclosing desperate vocal suffering in a stormy twinkling fog of ghostly moods.
Accompanied visuals by Carlos Carapia portray a steamy Gothic romance between the vocalist of Sex Vampire, Helly Eirisee, and Alain @Alain Toxique while Schrödinger performs “Heavenless” in a curious nightclub under dim red lights. The handsome duo are cloaked in ceremonial black attire and struggle to find intimacy, as they dance alongside a wall lined with porcelain carnival masks. Risque portraits and a maze of decorated rooms stoke an air of mystery before the final scene, where some of the puzzle pieces about the tragedy begin to fall into place.
