Following last year’s brilliant debut s/t EP, the four-piece Shoegaze band based in Barcelona, Salvana, made up of Laura S. Nuñez (vocals), Carlitos Nieves (guitar), Pablo Porcar (guitar) and Ana Gavidia (drums), drop a video by Carlitos Nieves and Laura S. Núñez themselves, for their first Post-Rock flecked single of 2023 “Brandemburgo.”
Alienating and obsessive escapist contemplations from dreamy fragile emotional vocals layer with radiating, mesmeric guitar melodies and dazzling surges, underlied by steady skipping rhythms, as a treacherous throbbing bassline line and heavily driving drum beats stir noisy riff-charged tumultuous sways along with high-pitched, dynamic searing leads, over a wistful introspection of leaving the past behind.
Thought-provoking visuals by Carlitos Nieves and Laura S. Núñez slowly scroll across modern architectures, whilst a solemn winter-clad figure walks and ponders the connection of things. Monochromatic hues, mirror reflections, suggestive poses and surreal flows of translucent motion give rise to engaging kaleidoscopic visions, opening up a hidden doorway to a blurry and shadowy performance by Salvana to sync seamlessly with the soundtrack.
