Rue Oberkampf is a German trio based out of Passau, fresh from releasing their debut EP “Waveclash” via No Emb Blanc Records, 6 tracks, as the title suggests, that are the fruits of a clash of synth-driven dark and cold sounds, a brilliant genre-defying blend of coldwave, minimal wave, post-punk and EBM.
“Caméra” is made of metronomic beats, pulsating and sinuous bass lines, hypnotic and dour synth-infused with sad melancholia. Emphasized by the French-speaking emotionally detached vocals, that perfectly embody the distant and sinister aesthetic of cold wave and the stripped-down electronic-pop of minimal wave in a deadly dark dancefloor killer.
Great to start the week with a band dripping with passion on every single note.
