Established in 2020, the Greek up-and-coming young five-piece Indie Rockers based in Athens, Royal Arch, made of Elias Masri (vocals), Nick Kokkinos (guitar), Orestis Loukas (bass guitar), Elias Kokkinos (drums) and Vassilis Dousis (guitar), following an acclaimed 2021 first single, “La Nuit”, return with a scenic video by Aris Athanatos for the addictive self-released new track, “Why Don’t You? (Let It All Go)”, about the love, loss, and desperation felt during the death of a romance.
Powerfully lyrical and sentimentally immersive, “Why Don’t You (Let It All Go)” weaves intoxicating sparkling, and anthemic erratic guitar melodies with trotting drum beats and sonorous sinuous bass lines to carry emotional, atmospheric vocal angst through topsy-turvy ringing swells of heartbroken fear.
The cinematic visuals, directed by Aris Athanatos, alternate sweeping drone footage by George K. with intimate backseat confessions, and candid performance shots, to paint the perfect backdrop for the doomed romantic moods of the soundtrack. Long snaking country roads and symbolic editing cast feelings of alienation and dread around the dramatic demeanors and edgy attires of the band, giving an up-close look into the band’s unique style and charm.
